Is anyone else planning to go to Cleveland? If you are, and are thinking about doing rush/lotto, it's a lottery two hours before for pit seating. So that's good to know. The box office said about 40 seats were available, and it's three rows. There's also $10-25 seating in the balcony, I think.
I'm definitely going up the first night, and for the weekend shows.

| Has anybody ever sat that close to that particular stage? Is it a good view? |

I love the hall of fame. I wonder what their special exhibits will be. I went there a lot when my mom was at the clinic.
I was also wondering that. I haven't been there before. Guess we'll find out. |

As a worthy ambassador for the fine state of Ohio, I would like to say that while we appreciate your application to bring commerce to our state, we decline your presence. We still have standards, the economy is not that bad.

So, update on lotto for Cleveland. The lotto policy on the website's a little different from the one they told me on the phone a while back. Namely, that they stop taking names for lotto a half hour before show time, and draw 15 minutes before. Anyone else think this is going to be a mess? They should at least draw 30 minutes before. 15 minutes isn't nearly enough time to get 40 people seated.
ENTER THE RENT TICKET LOTTERY AND SEE RENT FROM THE BEST SEATS IN THE HOUSE FOR ONLY $20!
Beginning two hours before each scheduled performance of RENT, a limited amount of $20 lottery ticket numbers will be distributed. A drawing will take place approximately fifteen minutes before the scheduled performance and if your number is called you will then be able to purchase these select tickets within the first three rows for only $20. Please note that cash is only accepted for the RENT lottery. Guests can enter the lottery in the State Theatre Ticket Office lobby at PlayhouseSquare no later then 30 minutes before their selected show date. Seating is extremely limited! Limit of two tickets per winning number, per performance. |

Well, the house usually opens 15 minutes before show time anyway. _________________ "Until you’ve lost your reputation, you never realize what a burden it was or what freedom really is"

I don't know about this particular theatre, but I've been to alot of local theatre. Most of the time, the house opens thirty minutes before the show. NY theater is a different story. I guess we non city folks need more time to get settled. _________________ "No, no one was naked in Rent, Regis." --- Taye Diggs on the Regis and Kelly Show |

Usually, for the theatre I've been too, both locally and in NYC, the house opens 30 minutes before. They're calling names 15 minutes before, for 40 tickets. Lottery at the Nederlander (and most other places I've been to), usually took 10-15 minutes. That just doesn't seem like it leaves enough time for 40 people to get tickets and seated. But maybe I'm wrong, it's been known to happen |

| Incidentally, the Murat Theatre in Indianapolis opens like an hour before showtime. |

Oops, sorry everyone! I guess I'm just not that well informed.
Well, I'm sure that the lotto system will work out. I hope! _________________ "Until you’ve lost your reputation, you never realize what a burden it was or what freedom really is"

Plus, it will be more than 15 minutes. I've never seen Rent start exactly when it's supposed to ever, and I don't expect it to start.
Is anybody else a little surprised that they are doing shows at 9 pm the night before they have matinees? |

I saw Rent for the first time in Cleveland, and ended up seeing it twice, both times from the front row. I thought the view was great. I also did stagedoor for both of those performances, but I'm not sure how it will be this time around.
The lotto thing seems a little weird ... waiting until 15 minutes before the show to draw names. The last time I went they did it the traditional way, two hours before.
Anyway, I bought tickets for opening night and closing night, so I'm definitely going those days. I'm also going to try the lotto the rest of the days, and I'll be going alone, so if anyone needs a lotto partner let me know! _________________ To being an us for once, instead of a them! |

From what I've heard, the stagedoor situation is that they basically don't have one. The performers just come out of the same entrance as the performers.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. |

No, there is an actual stagedoor behind the theaters. It's tucked away in a little alley, I guess you'd call it. At least this is where the performers came out last time. _________________ To being an us for once, instead of a them! |
